CARES Act Highlights

The Federal government has successfully passed an estimated $2 trillion economic stimulus package in response to the economic upheaval caused by the Coronavirus. Designed to protect individuals and businesses financially during these uncertain times, this bill, known as the CARES Act, is being described by politicians as a bi-partisan effort to get emergency relief to those who need it most.

Of the $2 trillion in the Act, the main recipients of these funds are individuals, small businesses, state and local governments, the federal safety net, education, hospitals and public health institutions, and big corporations. A great article for a breakdown of the funds going to each of these groups can be found here, but for now check out the graphic below to see some highlights.
